Overview
A long-range cruiser drawn for slow mornings at anchor.
Garnet began with a simple brief from her owner: cross oceans quietly, live mostly outside, and never feel like a machine. We developed the full design — exterior styling, general arrangement and interior concept — around a low, unbroken sheer line and glass that wraps the main deck.
The challenge was volume discipline. At 38 metres every cubic metre shows, so we kept the superstructure lean and pushed living space into a full-beam salon and an owner's suite on the main deck forward. The result cruises at 12 knots with the generator noise of a conversation.
Challenge
Range without the trawler look.
The owner wanted 4,000 nm range but refused a heavy expedition aesthetic. We shaped a fine entry and a soft-chine hull that stays efficient at displacement speeds while reading as a modern coastal cruiser above the waterline.
Approach
Design from the interior out.
We fixed the salon, galley and owner's suite arrangement first, then wrapped the exterior around those volumes. Every window sits where someone actually stands, sits or sleeps — nothing is decorative.

Deliverables
What the shipyard received.
- —Exterior styling with full general arrangement
- —Interior concept for salon, suites and wheelhouse
- —Fair NURBS hull and superstructure surfaces
- —Launch imagery set for owner presentations
- —Build-phase design support, fully remote
Outcome
Lofted once, cut once.
The fairing report came back with deviations inside plate tolerance across the full hull — the mould was milled directly from our surfaces with no rebuild. Garnet is currently in fit-out with launch scheduled next season.
