Overview
Sixty years old, and just getting started.
Halcyon arrived as a tired but honest classic: sound hull, worn-out systems, and an interior frozen in the wrong decade. Our refit design kept everything worth keeping — the sheer, the cap rails, the wheelhouse proportions — and rebuilt the rest for another thirty years of service.
Refits live or die on surveys, so we began with a full 3D scan and a structure-first plan: new stabilisers, hybrid-ready propulsion space, silent air conditioning and an interior that honours the yacht's era without imitating it.
Challenge
New bones, old soul.
Modern stabilisers, insulation and wiring all fight for space inside a 1960s hull. We modelled every system in 3D against the scan data, so the shipyard cut steel once — with heritage joinery protected throughout the works.
Approach
Restore, don't replace.
Original panelling was catalogued, restored and reinstalled; only what was beyond saving was remade to match. New elements — lighting, hardware, soft furnishings — are quietly contemporary, so the eras sit side by side instead of competing.

Deliverables
What the shipyard received.
- —3D scan survey and structure-first refit plan
- —Exterior restoration drawings and paint scheme
- —Full interior redesign across four decks
- —Systems coordination model for the yard
- —Weekly remote site support through sea trials
Outcome
Back at sea in one season.
Halcyon completed her refit on schedule and passed sea trials with lower noise levels than many new builds. She now runs private summers in the Baltic — proof that the greenest yacht is the one already built.
